Big weekend coming up for our Adoption!

So if you are a new follower to my blog and you haven't witnessed the adorable lillypie headbands that grace my cuties head on an almost a daily basis then you are missing out go check out some of them here. This mama has also been known to rock a lillypie on occasion :)

Now not only is Laura at lillypie accessories so creative, reasonably price and reliable, she is so sweet as well! As soon as I told her about our adoption she was willing to step in and help us out through her business. She is so sweet and truly has a huge heart for the Lord!

She is doing a benefit weekend for us this Friday - Sunday (March 4 -6) I will be guest posting on her blog and sharing a little bit about adoption. Proceeds will be going to our adoption fund, HOW AWESOME IS THAT?!?!

Laura Rocks, go check out her shop and her blog, tell her hello, and then start making your wish list for this weekend :)

T.G.I.F

I remember having Friday night sleepovers with my friends in elementary and middle school to watch TGIF and have popcorn and junk food. We would swoon over the latest teen magazine with JTT or Backstreet Boy on the cover.

My Friday's might look a little different now but I am still thrilled for my Friday evenings. It means no responsibilities, usually a dinner out with one set of our parents, letting Lydia stay up a little later if she will make it, having a beer on the couch, and not setting an alarm before I hit the pillow. YAY!!

We have a fun weekend planned with a Butler game tomorrow afternoon, 2 of my bestest girlfriends in town for a slumber party with me and Lydia tomorrow night, and hopefully doing some party planning!

Speaking of party planning here is my inspiration for the 1st Bday bash. I will be ordering this invitation and then using these colors throughout the decorations etc.! ::swoon::

Say Whaaa?

I am planning a 1st birthday party. Yeah you heard me right, "I AM PLANNING A 1st BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!" ::falls out of chair::

How is it even possible that my little baby girl's first birthday is in our sights?!? Well it is and she is awesome, she has changed my life in so many ways, she brings a smile to my face every single day and is just the cutest darn thing in all the land. So she deserves... ok and this mama deserves, an amazing celebration to commemorate this first year of life.

I would love any ideas, websites to check out, EASY DIY ideas (I said easy people, this mama is not super crafty). The theme is cupcakes, colors: pink, yellow, green and some brown in there. I am going to do tissue paper poms and flowers (I was taught how yesterday) but I would love some other ideas as well.

I am borrowing 2 cupcake towers and a big cupcake pan that will be the big girls cake!

This is all I have right now, so please do help me out my amazing party plannin moms!!

I'm BACK!!!!

From where you ask? Oh just floating around in the Caribbean for a week :)

My husband and I planned a trip with three other couples. I was oh so nervous to be away from Lydia for a WHOLE WEEK but I knew that Matt and I needed a vacation together. So I packed up Lydia's bags for a whole week with grandma and grandpa and Matt and I went on a cruise with Royal Caribbean to Haiti and Jamaica.

Let me just say, I DID NOT miss the ice, snow and arctic temps from last week! We had perfect weather the whole time, 80's in Haiti and Jamaica and high 70's felt like 80's and sunny on our days at sea.

We ate too much, drank some fruity cocktails, admired the beautiful scenery from a sand bar in the ocean of Haiti, felt incredibly small as we took in the stars from our boat in the ocean and enjoyed the company of each other and good friends.

I was so excited to get back to my girl though, I ran through the terminal where my parents waited with her and scooped her up into a big hug and kissed her chunky cheeks. She sure did make coming home a lot easier.

So much to come but here are a few pictures from our trip. I can't wait to catch up on everyone's week, it was really weird/kind of nice to go unplugged for a week, no facebook, email, twitter or blogging! But now I'm excited to get caught up and share on some amazing ways God is working in our lives right now.

Fellow Adoptive Families, I have a question?!?!

Ok, so we have not officially applied to our agency yet, but oh man do I dream of the day that I can and I might secretly already have all the documents ready to go :) We have enough saved for that part but are working on the initial program fee and home study fee.

Since most organized adoption fundraisers call for confirming your agency we cannot take part in those yet so I was going to do one on our own. A puzzle fundraiser! plus what an awesome keepsake for our baby to display all those that loved and wished for him/her to come home!

Where do I find a cute Africa puzzle?!?! I cannot find one that I like anywhere??

Once I find one, you will be able to sponsor a puzzle piece, we will put your name or special message on the back of the puzzle piece and once it is all done, we will somehow frame it for the room of our baby!

Then all that is raised will help to get our initial program fee and home study fee set so we can get this show on the road!

I need suggestions, I have seen a few people who have done this so you might have an idea or maybe you know a friend or family that has?? So let me know!

THANKS :)
