Cars, a pain but a neccessity
So I'm back and the saying when it rains it pours could not be more true for me and my poor car right now. Well luckily my car is back in my possession, sleeping in the garage where it belongs and getting me safely back and forth from work. That was not the case yesterday morning.

I'm already running late, a regular occurrence for a Monday morning, and I go to start my car and it is shaking, like shaking my whole body shaking and the engine light is flashing at me (not just on but flashing, that's bad right?!?!?)
So I run inside knock on the bathroom door because Matt is showering and getting ready. "Honey, we have a problem" So he runs out putting his shoes on to drive my car around the block, nasty burning smell and smoke coming out of the exhaust. bad again right?!?!
So we measure the oil, not measuring hardly at all, so we poor about a quart in, decide I'm not going into work and my car is going to see the doctor. I packed a very sleepy Lydia in her pj's into his truck, follow Matt to the auto repair shop, then take him to work. We get a call later, we can't find anything wrong with your car... WHAT?!?! It was shaking and smoking. Well it turns out this crack in a valve that we hadn't ever gotten fixed was probably the culprit so we went ahead and let them fix it, since they have been bugging us for 2 years to fix it. $530 later my car is running like new. Ugggh car problems are the worst.

Good news, I got to spend the day at home with my baby girl it only cost me $530 to do so!!

Donezo, Dead, No more
This is my car right now as we speak. My poor car is sitting in a parking lot absolutely DEAD, I mean no juice, not even the power locks work :(
It has been hanging out in said parking lot faaaaar away from my house since last night when I came out from my workout class, said goodbye to the girls, and went to my car wayyyy on the other side of the parking lot. (yes you read that correctly, I was at a workout class no need to go back and make sure your eyes weren't playing tricks on you) Thank goodness that my friend Carly who had also been at the same workout class with me, only lives about 2 min up the road and I called her to see if her hubby was home, I do not know how to jump a car (I do now!) She said she would come and we would try it out, hubby wasn't home. So here we are 2 sweaty girls who's legs and muscles are shaking because the workout kicked our butts, it's dark, and I'm wayyy in the back of the parking lot and not to mention there was a creepy person walking around the parking lot.
Well after 15 min of running her car, mine was DONE not starting, nothing. My battery is completely shot and my poor car is dead all alone for the whole night and the whole day today. I don't necessarily love my car now that I have a baby but I did love it at one time and it made me sad to see it lifeless and alone.
It also happened to ruin our plans for this evening as we were supposed to head up to Purdue to hang with some old friends and stay with my sister tonight before the game tomorrow. Well, I think we will be otherwise occupied as my husband attempts to change my battery after work.
Uggggh Happy Friday to me! I hope your Fridays leave with you cars full of life and a fun weekend ahead :)
P.S. Giveway coming on Monday so come back and check it out!!

So I just hit 50 followers :) Wow so out there at some point in time 50 people thought that my blog looked intersting and then read about my not always so interesting life and looked at a picture of my ok AMAZING daughter!!! She's pretty much the reason everyone is a follower I believe.
So in honor of 50..... I'm going to do something really fun, I promise.
I just don't know what that is yet, I wasn't prepared. I didn't know I was cool enough to get to 50 followers :)
So stay tuned for something fun hopefully by Friday, maybe a giveway of some of my favorite things (cheap things, I love ya people but a mama's got a budget)
Have a great Wednesday!
P.S. hubby is in his 2nd week at the new job and let me just say I LOVE HAVING HIM HOME!! No more single mommy and yay for being a family on the weekends :) FYI he used to work at a golf course and had crappy crappy hours, now he works at a bank = Awesome awesome hours :)

Fighting the good fight
Lydia has had her first cold this week :( It attacked her the day after she got her shots, the shots made her run a slight temperature and I think that night while her immune system was coping with the temperature the cold bug swooped in and took over.
I remember waking her up last Wed. morning and her eyes were kind of red, she smiled at me while I put her in her car seat to leave for the morning and.... AAAACCCCCHOOOOO crazy snot came flying out of her nose. That was the start of the fight against this nasty bug. I think she is finally feeling a little better, she has been sleeping a lot more which is good her little body needs the rest to fight it off and she hasn't ran anymore fevers but her poor nose runs runs runs. Luckily she has two little boys to wipe her nose during the day while mommy is at work (my aunt watches her grandson who is 2 and her godson who is 4).
That first morning was so hard to leave her, she was all sneezy, snotty, and cuddly ugggh pull at a mammas heart strings why don't ya.
The blue booger sucker is our new best friend, every morning, every day when we get home from work and every night before bed I suck those bad boys out so my baby can dream sweet booger free dreams.
She is looking and feeling better and back to her happy/giggly/smiley more than sad/grumpy/fussy baby.
Mommy on the other hand is now fighting the cold bug. Wiping snotty noses will do that to ya I guess.

Top Two Tuesday... I'm BACK!

So I haven't been much into the Top 2 Tuesday recently because well going back to work and trying to be a good mom and wife all at the same time is proving to be more difficult than I had imagined and I just haven't had the time or I've not had anything to contribute that is worth a T2T post. BUT this one I can do because well there are loooots of things I hope to accomplish by the end of the year so this is a no brainer plus some!

Top 2 Things you want to accomplish by the end of the year:
1. PAY OFF SOME BILLS!!! $$$$$$

This is a BIG one! I have a car that I am way upside down on and need to try and get in control so I can get into something a little more kid friendly for Lydia and her future siblings. So we have the car, we have the new washer and dryer we got a while back (they were a neccessity but an expensive necessity) and we have Gobs and Gobs of medical bills from having our beautiful Lydia bug, completely worth it but definitely hope to get most of the doctor's (not hospital) bills paid off by the end of the year.
2. Jump into God's word!!!

I have started my own private Bible Study, I feel like the one thing my Catholic church is lacking in is the small groups/mommy groups/ bible study front soooooo I'm doing one on my own. I feel as though I owe God a whole heck of a lot more than I've been giving him in the last few years. Becoming a mom has proven this to me, he has blessed me with the greatest gift I could have ever imagined in becoming a mommy to my Lydia and I owe it to him to LISTEN. That seems to be the theme of my life right now "Shut up and Listen" What a better place to listen for what God is saying then in his own word! So I'm cracking open that Bible and doing my own little Bible Study (the one I purchased at Women of Faith this year) I will keep you updated on how it is going and definitely share any inspiration I find on my journey.
Honorable Mentions:
Keep working out 2 times a week at least!
Cook one new meal a week.

Sneak Peak and Bad Case of the Mondays
Sooo I have a bad bad case of the Monday's that is leaving me feeling like a nasty woman right now so I'm not too much in the mood to post about what a great weekend we had so here is just a tiny sneak peak of this past weekend until I can post happier more uplifting thoughts. No need to bring everyone down with me.
So for now here is my little girl sporting her Purdue Boilermaker gear and sitting in her very own tailgating chair before the game this past weekend. She did an amazing job the whole day!

Now lets hope this case of the Monday's doesn't turn into a whole week thing.

Labor Day fun and Lydia 4 month stats
So what a fun filled, busy Labor Day weekend we had here.
Friday night I went up to South Bend to stay with my old college roomate and her fiance, not to mention the rest of the Sexy Crew (my college friends, yes we named our group) We woke up super early on game day, just like the old breakfast club days, headed out to tailgate before the game we had soo much food, yummy drinks, games of bags, good conversation and a beautiful day for the first game of the season! Amber and her fiance were great hosts and I know all of us had a great time.
Purdue lost unfortunately but hopefully now we know what to expect and I'm hoping they can only get better from here (especially with a quarterback with an arm like Marve's), but I am no fair weather fan and we will pack up and head to West Lafayette this weekend. Lydia will attend her first college football game and tailgate! I know she will love it just like her mommy.
Then Sunday we hung out with daddy in the morning, we love our Sunday mornings. Then we layed out at the pool yesterday, well mommy did while Lydia hung out with Grandma. We went to Babies R Us and picked out a new stroller so Lydia can actually sit up and see everything going on around her, she has this thing now about pulling up against the straps of her car seat in her snap and go to look around and it makes her mad when she can't sit up because of those darn car seat straps, we rolled her around in the new stroller through the aisles and she was beaming!
I took today off so that I could take Lydia to her 4 month appointment and I knew this meant shots so I took the whole day so I could be with her. She wouldn't let Leah (our awesome nurse!) take her back to be weighed so mommy had to carry her back there, she looked at me and got this pouty face before she cried when Leah was holding her to take her back, awww baby loves her mama!
Then the Doctor came in and was so impressed with how well she is doing, how alert she seems and how much she loves to sit up. We got to talking about introducing food soon and all of her developmental milestones she's been making so far and I must say we have an overachiever on our hands, I'm such a proud mama! Right as the doctor was about to leave the room, which meant the nurses with the shots were coming in, Lydia all of a sudden remembered she hadn't taken her morning nap and that is was time for her bottle, begin small meltdown, continue into a HUGE meltdown when nurses try and give her the liquid medicine then transition into full out posessed baby when we had to put her down to give her the shots, holy cow ol' girls face was beat read, you could see all the way down her throat from her screaming so big and loud. My heart was breaking into a million pieces I just wanted to kick everyone out of the room so I could feed Lydia and rock her to sleep. But she is doing great now, you wouldn't even know she went through that traumatic experience this morning.
4 Month stats:
15 lbs. 2 oz
25 and 3/4 in long
16 in head
90th percentile height and weight and 75th percentile in her head measurement. She's a big healthy girl and we loooove her so much :)

4 Months!
Lydia,
So now for the run down over the past month, even though I feel like I just did this post for 3 months.

- You love to suck really loud on your toes now and we can always find you with your feet in the air, you like to show those cute tootsies off. I just kiss them when you do that :)
- You went to your first Cubs game and saw your first big fireworks show and we were sooo proud of you! You didn't scream, cry, or even make a peep when those fireworks were going off. You got sleepy and fell asleep without any fussiness during the game and you looked super cute in your outfit. You love your Baby Bjorn now so we use it when we can because you hate laying down in your stroller. (mommy needs to go buy you a big girl stroller so you can sit up and see around)
No matter how much mommy wants to slow down the time just a smidge so I can enjoy every millisecond with you I CANNOT do it, it is impossible as a human being so I guess that is why we take so many pictures of you in hopes to capture all that we can of you at each stage. Mommy is going to need a new hard drive to hold all my pictures I take of you. :)
So now for the run down over the past month, even though I feel like I just did this post for 3 months.
-You are rolling!! I mean really rolling, you can go back to tummy and tummy to back. Sometimes you still get confused once you get to the other side like "woah mommy did you catch that, my world just turned really really fast"
- We just bumped you up to 6 oz, like a big girl and you gobble it down although not quite with the "crack baby" tendancies you used to have but you still loooove to eat! And you love to blow rasberries as I'm feeding you your cereal which leads in both of us having cereal all over us after we are done, I have it in my eyelashes and on my face and you have it on your pants the seat and in your little neck roll (hahaha yes you are a goober of a mess)
- You are in 2 diapers now! They looked huuuuge when I pulled them out but they fit you and and you love to squirm now when I change your diaper making it very difficult for quicky diaper changes these days.
- You love to suck really loud on your toes now and we can always find you with your feet in the air, you like to show those cute tootsies off. I just kiss them when you do that :)

- You haven't quite given me a full out giggle yet but you love to talk talk talk and you squeal with excitment when you think something is enteraining or when you are talking to your mobile animals, I am waiting for that baby giggle though, I know it is going to be music to my ears!
- We put your baby einstein activity jumper together and you LOVE looking at all the colors surrounding you and you can actually touch the floor (ok maybe you shift your weight so one foot is completely on the ground) but how smart of you to figure that out!
- Favorite toys: SOPHIE (you love her and throw her around all over the place!), your little snuggies (elephant and bunny), love you some links (they are even alphabet links), and your 10 ladybugs book
I am falling more and more in love with you everyday and nothing brings me more pleasure then being your mommy, I love you Lydia bug :) Happy 4 months of life!!
Love,
Mommy
I made this bundle of cuteness?!?!?!
Lets get this out of the way reallll fast

BOILER UP!!! Making the trip up to South Bend tonight to hang out with college friends and cheer on my Purdue Boilermakers as we open the season against Notre Dame on Saturday. (I heart football, tomorrow is by far my favorite day of the year, well maybe Christmas is in there too)
Ok now for the cuteness overload that is my daughter and her 3 month pictures. We love love our photographer, they did our wedding, they did her newborn shoot and they will do the rest of her first year as well!! We love them, check them out Monahan Photography not to mention Alicia is super adorable and expecting in November, we can't wait to see her!!
Enjoy these adorable photos and I hope they put a smile on your face this Friday.

Did I really make this cute little person, carry her for 9 months, give birth to her, and keep her alive for 4 months already (yes she is 4 months old TODAY)?!?!
Our God is good and I will spend the rest of my life thanking him for making me a mommy and especially a mommy to my Lydia bug :)

In my Dreams I would be....
A SAHM!!!
I hate Thursdays it is the hardest day for me to be away from her for some reason. I love that she is with my aunt but I hate dropping her off and leaving her as she is in such a good mood, talking the whole way there and all smiley when I leave :( I want to hang out with smiley morning time Lydia.
I am so jealous of all you Stay At Home Mammas, be thankful for that blessing and maybe in time God will bless us with the chance for me to do just that but for now, my lunch break is over and I must get back to work to so we can continue eat, stay dry under a roof at night and have clothes on our backs :)
