Home from my 39 week appointment

And all we have is 1 lousy cm and they stripped my membranes (OUCH!)

I am scheduled to go back in for my 40 week appointment on Wednesday afternoon, lets hope I don't make it that long.

Cross your fingers and pray ladies....I already love her but I will love her so much more when she is no longer trying to stick her foot through my side or up my rib cage!

T2T... summer time!

Head on over to Taylor's blog and check out the Top 2 Tuesday Topic for this week!

Let me tell you I am oh so excited about this topic and once again how do you pick just 2 favorite things about SUMMER?!?!?! What is there not to love about summer?

So here are my picks: (Sorry no good pics to go along)

1. My parents backyard!! My parents have THE best place for entertaining or relaxing during the summer. The pool is amazing and there is nothing like laying out with some tunes playing drinking a beer and relaxing in the sun. Maybe reading a good book while you are at it. HEAVEN!

2. Riding around with the top down in my convertible! Ok so this year that might be a little difficult with the baby in the backseat but there will still be opportunities for me to put the top down and let the stress just blow off me, I swear it's theraputic.

Close calls to making my top 2: Summer Concerts (even though I won't be making many this year) and long days!

A tribute to the love of my life and the soon to be daddy!

So I couldn't go through this whole 9 months without telling you a little about my husband and the amazing man that I have snagged to live out the rest of my life with. He was my first and last boyfriend. (yes I never had a "boyfriend" until he came along).

Our very first picture together:

We met in Theatre class at Purdue, it took me a couple classes to finally get the nerve to ask him if he was a Heinekamp because I knew he looked so familiar and I was correct. His sister Courtney had been to my house several times because my sister is the same age and played basketball with her. I had just never officially met her brother (we went to separate high schools, he was a private school kid and I was the one public school kid in my family). So after he got over the initial who is this crazy stalker girl we started talking in class and walking out together until he would go one direction and i would go the other. Then our teacher partnered us together for our first project and then we obviously had to exchange contact information. The most fun was the flirting via AIM with our little messages, w/emoticons i might add, to each other at the end of every away message. Oh i loved that feeling, knowing he was thinking about me even when he was away. We started driving to and from bball games together and back home to Indy and it gave us a chance to really get to know each other.

We were pretty comfortable right from the start, no truly awkward first date moments. If you don't count the times I had to get him a container to pee in after I took him to the emergency room for his appendix. hahaha such a great story we have to tell our kids, before he even took me on a real date I had to take him to the ER and spent the night and into the next morning with my poor sick love, although we hadn't told each other we loved each other yet I think we both knew pretty quickly it was love. We would lay in my little twin bed at school and he would make me laugh so hard my stomach would hurt and tears would roll down my face. He let me be myself and I don't ever feel like I had one of those relationships that held me back from experiencing anything in my last couple years at school. He only made them better!!

We dated for 2 years and then after I graduated and before he started his Senior year he called up my dad and met him for a beer and then asked him for permission to marry his daughter (this made me sooo happy to hear and pleased my dad you might say!) Later that week we went for ice cream and a walk on the canal, I had to work the next morning and he had to head back up to Purdue for work but that didn't keep us from staying out late walking and talking and then eventually calling all our friends and waking up our family because he asked me to marry him that night. He got down on one knee and said one thing that would make spending the next year apart much easier was if he knew i would be his wife at the end of it! Oh happy day :) I was on cloud nine and have been ever since.

Right after he popped the question:

He is my best friend, the love of my life, the one person who takes me even with my faults, or when I'm having a freak out moment about becoming a mom and going through labor. He has so much confidence in me and that means the world. He is constantly telling me I can do this and that I was made to have this baby. He is going to be a great support system through this whole thing and has already been my rock through it all. I can't wait to watch him hold our daughter for the first time and fall in love with her. She is one lucky girl to have such a great daddy and I am one lucky woman to have such an amazing husband to spend the rest of my life with.

::sigh:: he still makes me melt, I cannot imagine my life without him

Need some words of encouragment

So if you check out my survey from earlier this week I said the baby is over 6lbs but feels more like 10 sometimes well at my appointment yesterday, she was measuring my belly and noticed I was measuring almost 2 weeks early (only had that one other visit and she always seemed to even herself out) well she went ahead and ordered an ultrasound so we could make sure I didn't have a monster in there.

Turns out I have a little chunky chunk in there, she is already measuring over 8lbs. and I am not dialated or making any progress. This made me super nervous for the rest of the night and makes me still super nervous.

So if any of you mamas out there have postive experiences with big babies I would love to hear them! I love me a pudgy cuddling baby but I'm not so sure how I feel about delivering one. VERY NERVOUS and I really don't want a C-section so I'm hoping she moves this process along on her own and that maybe the ultrasound was off by a lb or so.....

T2T ... this is kind of hard

Sooo I had a hard time coming up with my Top 2 Tuesday picks. So since it is warming up outside I decided to go with something I will likely be using every day with this nice weather upon us.

So here it is my top 2 picks. I'm sure I could go on and on and post many other top 2 under $15 because well I'm on a budget so a lot has to be under $15 these days but these are the 2 that came to mind.

1. Old Navy Flip Flops! Sooooo excited to get these babies out this year, I actually have a pretty new pair of white and black flip flops leftover that i bought towards the end of the season last year because I wear them so much sometimes I have to go back towards the end of the summer but at 2 for $5 I don't mind doing that. Plus they are comfy and go with pretty much anything because they have every color under the rainbow available.

2. Jergens Shea Butter Lotion. This is a new find for me, I've always struggled finding a lotion that works for me because I have pretty dry skin and in the summer time I need it even more to soak up my chlorine, sun baked, dried out skin. The key is to find something that smells good and absords pretty quickly leaving you not feeling greasy but not feeling like you just wasted 10 min lathering up and now you are all scaly again. I love this stuff, found it a few months ago and it is now my fav!

38 weeks and oh so ready!

How far along?: 38 weeks
How big is baby?: over 6 lbs (feels like 10 sometimes, she has no more room in there)
Weight gain?: 21 lbs.
Stretch Marks?: Looks once again like I got attacked by a lion :( Gross
Maternity Clothes?: of course, my wardrobe is sorely lacking anything new and exciting except I have picked up a few post baby pieces to make me feel good when I can finally wear normal clothes (hopefully they fit)
Sleep?: Really?? What is that??

Best mo
ment this week?: My mom treated me to a Saturday morning Pedicure (oh boy did my poor footsies need it) I hate naked toenails and i wouldn't break out my flip flops even though my feet were fat and swollen because my nails were not painted because well i can't reach them and I don't trust my husband to do it. (I had to post a pic of the hot pink toesies, sorry you can still tell they are a little swollen, but not nearly as bad as during that 85 degree day)

Food cravings?:
I love it all right now but can't eat a full big meal, I'm hungry but well there isn't much room in there right now so I snack all day long, if we go out I take my leftovers home for my snack in a couple hours.
Gender?: GIRL!!!
Movement?: She rolls and squirms and wiggles and I swear i can make out her heel and her butt now, CRAZY, oh yeah did I mention it doesn't feel too hot when she decides to roll and squirm.
What I miss: Being able to get comfortable, I don't even look forward to going to bed anymore
Belly Button?: still in
What I'm looking forward to?: Seeing Matt hold her for the first time, he has been getting pretty excited lately and he hasn't ever really held a little baby and I just know he's going to surprise himself with how good he is going to do with her, he will be head over heels before we leave the delivery room
Milestone?: Making it full term and through my first exam, even though sadly there was no progress, just a pretty painful 20 seconds or so I won't get back. Maybe Wednesday, keep your fingers crossed that she has made some progress!

ACM's rocked my world!

Ok, so I absolutely loooove any country music award show :) Why? because it's like a big huge concert with awards thrown in the mix. All of the male country artists look so dang cute playing their guitars and singing their hearts out. No hostile moments or bad mouthing of fellow artists. All of the women are nice to eachother and look beautiful in their dresses!

Here is why last night was even better than most of the awards shows lately :

1. Taylor Swift did not walk away with any huge award (sorry, Taylor, yes you are a talented song writer and musician but i'm tired of you and I think you are awful live)

2. Carrie Underwood! - Did you see her performance of Temporary Home (oh tear jerker) and she won the Triple Crown Award right after that and won Entertainer of the Year, you go girl! (Laura G. you must have been so proud!)

3. Miranda Lambert- Ok, so I fell in love after her song "me and charlie" and bought her first album then my hubby and I saw her on the free stage at the Indiana State Fair and I fell in love just a little bit more and now after being overlooked for the last couple of years she came out with a rockin album and kicked butt last night, with female vocalist, best album, and best video! YEAH MIRANDA, plus she dates super cutie Blake Shelton.

4. Lady Antebellum- Ok, so I hate that their song "Need you now" is playing on every radio station that is not country right now on repeat, but that does not change that I have been hoping they would have a night like last night for oh about 2 years now. They are awesome and deserve all the awards they received last night. Plus, their album does rock and I cannot wait to see them this summer :)

Ok, so there is my recap and my reasons why last night's Academy of Country Music Awards Rocked my Sunday evening, even if I had to clean up Bentley vom off my carpet in the middle of it, oh yes he is just preparing me for baby who should be making her arrival in approx. 2 weeks from today! LETS GO BABY GIRL, get to moving in there, mommy and daddy want to meet you and I am super tired of being pregnant!

Baby post to come tomorrow, sorry you can tell I'm tired of talking about being pregnant :)

Ok Seriously Jenny???

Ok, so I am obviously as you all know now in love with my DVR for the reason that my husband is obviously not a Gossip Girl watchin husband (OTH he can do, but not GG) so I save it and watch it while he is at class, which happened to be last night. I happen to not be very happy with Ms. Jenny Humphrey right now! Seriously I love Nate and Serina together why does she have to be a bia, her and S are related now and she is being all conniving. Uggggh. I want to throw something at her through the tv. Can you blame Serina for wanting to find her dad?? Oh yeah and not so into her dark, pitty party fashion statements right now either. I want the old Jenny Humphrey back :(

Ok that is my rant for the day. I promise a 37 week picture is coming, I've just gotten in the habit of coming home and putting on comfy clothes to go walk or play with my dogs and lounge around in this beautiful weather. BUT we actually have dinner date plans tomorrow night with friends so I will be putting on normal clothes and taking my 37 week picture for all of you, so you can see how there is absolutely no more room for this little girl to grow anymore! She needs to get a move on :) Eviction notice coming soon!!!

The happiest room in our house!

So here is our little girls nursery! It is so cute and girly, I love to go in there and just imagine bringing her home, changing her on her changing pad, rocking her to sleep in that cozy little glider and laying her down to sleep in her crib!

The view from the door when you first look in:

"Sweet Dreams" to my little baby girl

Her changing and play/storage areas:

Her closet full of some of the cutest little clothes I have ever laid my eyes on!

I am officially full term tomorrow! 37 weeks I have carried this little angel and I am really getting anxious to see what she looks like and to look into her beautiful eyes :)

YAY back to my normal Dr. on Monday

Soooo my adorable OB went on Maternity Leave around my 25th or 26th week of pregnancy and that is normally the time at my practice that we go on rotations to meet all the Dr.'s anyway so it worked out pretty nicely. Unfortunately my 36 week appointment landed on the one last Dr. I hadn't met yet. So I was a little nervous because it was supposed to be my first exam and I have heard mixed thoughts on how women have felt during and after these exams, some say it's awful, some say it's just uncomfortable, some say it was a breeze so I was a little nervous to not be with my normal adorable little OB who makes for comforting me in nervous situations.

Let me just say I loved this last Dr. I had because he gave me the option to wait for my exam until I was with my normal Dr. again... so nice of him! Eased my nerves to say the least. So I had the Group B Strep test done, found the heart beat (not very easily I might add, she rolls away from the doppler) measured my belly, my blood pressure (which was high because of nerves) and then the dreaded scale.... oh that scale really got me this time. I had been so proud of myself this whole pregnancy and then I had a bad 2 weeks because I haven't gained that much in 2 weeks in my whole almost 37 weeks of pregnancy :( sigh.

So anyway, I go in to see my normal Dr. on Monday morning, we will see if this little girl is making any progress and I WILL BE FULL TERM :) Oh man it's getting so close! Can't wait to meet her.

P.S. I bet you all are dying to know the name :) Well we are pretty sure we have it and we have shared with family and friends but my blogger friends you are going to wait in anticipation for the big unvailing of the name when she arrives!! I have to keep some sort of surprise during this whole thing, right???

HAVE A GREAT WEKEND EVERYONE!!

A Little Heartbroken and Top 2 Tuesday

So first off let me start by saying, BUTLER Thank you for making this Tournament one we will all remember for the rest of our lives. Thank you for giving my husband something he probably never thought he would get to witness in his whole life. One of his sports teams that he has been following his whole life actually playing for a National Championship in their hometown and then almost winning said National Championship. Duke won by a posession but Butler never gave up! I am proud of the type of athletes that represented our state and city and proud of Indiana basketball. So although we are all a little heartbroken today, we are still proud and hey... there is always next year :)

Now... Top 2 Tuesday head on over to Taylor's blog and check it out!

My Top 2 Favorite Magazines

1. People- I looooove reading about celebrities and their trash and issues, makes me feel better about my normal, sometimes boring life. I also love looking at their clothes, their babies, their weddings, their homes and their doggies. You can basically find all of that on some celebrity or another in any issue.

2. American Baby- Why? Not only am I almost a mom (check ticker above for freak out moment!) but it is FREE!! Who doesn't love Free? and especially when this little magazine is jam packed with useful information for First Time Mothers such as myself.

I finally understand (and a weekend recap)

So I finally understand the feeling of "I don't care what I have to go through, I just want my baby here" I had this feeling through the first 8 months of my pregnancy that I would never be excited for labor and delivery and that instead I would live in fear of it, I mean terrified! BUT that is starting to pass as every day I get more and more uncomfortable, I can't sleep, I can't stand for a long period of time but I can't sit for a long period of time either, I'm full so quickly but hungry a lot of the time, I wake up on average 3 times to go the bathroom and take a tums because my heartburn is like woah.

Don't get me wrong my pregnancy has really been a breeze and I was so lucky not to have the morning sickness, I've kept my weight gain down, and I have not had any close calls or scary moments. SO for that I am thankful but I think this is God's way of making me shake my fear of labor and get me ready to welcome this little girl into the world. Am I still nervous for the whole experience, you bet ya I am, but I'm feeling more confident in myself and in the fact that I was meant to go through this and it's the only way I'm going to get this baby out of me and into my arms!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter, our weekend was fabulous, one of the best weekends I've had in a long time. It's a great time to live in the city of Indianapolis with all of the Final Four festivities going on around us. My husband and I spent the day Friday downtown, hitting up the Butler Bulldog's open practice with about 30,000 other people (unreal!) then hung out downtown for lunch, drinks (not me of course), people watching, and catching up with friends and family!

Saturday was my husbands Birthday so we had our families over for dinner and to watch the game. My husband has been a Butler fan all of his life and got the most amazing Birthday gift as they won their Final Four game and are onto the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!! He even managed to get his hands on a ticket with one of our friends from school and will be in Lucas Oil tonight to cheer on his team! I couldn't be happier for him :)

Easter was great, Matt had to work in the morning so I hung out with my family for church and breakfast, it was fun to hang out just the 5 of us again like old times. Then when Matt got home we hit up both family get togethers, ate lots of food, played games outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather. It was a great day and I can't wait to dress up our little girl in a cute Easter outfit next year!! Oh so fun :)

Well there is my rant about pregnancy and my weekend recap all wrapped into one big rambling post! Pictures to come when I get home :)
