Friday night I went up to South Bend to stay with my old college roomate and her fiance, not to mention the rest of the Sexy Crew (my college friends, yes we named our group) We woke up super early on game day, just like the old breakfast club days, headed out to tailgate before the game we had soo much food, yummy drinks, games of bags, good conversation and a beautiful day for the first game of the season! Amber and her fiance were great hosts and I know all of us had a great time.
Me and the lovely hostess
Purdue lost unfortunately but hopefully now we know what to expect and I'm hoping they can only get better from here (especially with a quarterback with an arm like Marve's), but I am no fair weather fan and we will pack up and head to West Lafayette this weekend. Lydia will attend her first college football game and tailgate! I know she will love it just like her mommy.
Then Sunday we hung out with daddy in the morning, we love our Sunday mornings. Then we layed out at the pool yesterday, well mommy did while Lydia hung out with Grandma. We went to Babies R Us and picked out a new stroller so Lydia can actually sit up and see everything going on around her, she has this thing now about pulling up against the straps of her car seat in her snap and go to look around and it makes her mad when she can't sit up because of those darn car seat straps, we rolled her around in the new stroller through the aisles and she was beaming!
I took today off so that I could take Lydia to her 4 month appointment and I knew this meant shots so I took the whole day so I could be with her. She wouldn't let Leah (our awesome nurse!) take her back to be weighed so mommy had to carry her back there, she looked at me and got this pouty face before she cried when Leah was holding her to take her back, awww baby loves her mama!
Then the Doctor came in and was so impressed with how well she is doing, how alert she seems and how much she loves to sit up. We got to talking about introducing food soon and all of her developmental milestones she's been making so far and I must say we have an overachiever on our hands, I'm such a proud mama! Right as the doctor was about to leave the room, which meant the nurses with the shots were coming in, Lydia all of a sudden remembered she hadn't taken her morning nap and that is was time for her bottle, begin small meltdown, continue into a HUGE meltdown when nurses try and give her the liquid medicine then transition into full out posessed baby when we had to put her down to give her the shots, holy cow ol' girls face was beat read, you could see all the way down her throat from her screaming so big and loud. My heart was breaking into a million pieces I just wanted to kick everyone out of the room so I could feed Lydia and rock her to sleep. But she is doing great now, you wouldn't even know she went through that traumatic experience this morning.
4 Month stats:
15 lbs. 2 oz
25 and 3/4 in long
16 in head
90th percentile height and weight and 75th percentile in her head measurement. She's a big healthy girl and we loooove her so much :)
