Nursery Part 2
So this Saturday has been a very productive one as have most over the past month. With baby girl only 12 weeks away and my baby shower only a month away, we are trying to get her room squared away in order to put all her fun stuff away once I get it.
So here is where we stand on the nursery as of today! We got the crib ordered, in and up as of last Saturday :) I think it is so beautiful and can't wait to see the matching dresser/ changing table with it! She will be able to use this as she grows too, it converts to a toddler bed and then a full bed!

Today we went to Target and bought her cubby and baskets, I also picked up the balloon shade for the window, it is soooooo cute I was so excited when I put it up and saw how awesome it looked with her bedding and yellow walls. The butterflies were also a Target purchase that I made a while back knowing I would want these in her room! (my family and our butterfly obsession!!)

I find myself walking in there just to imagine what it will be like finished and then what it will be like actually inhabited by a little human being..... oh boy, many emotions as we reach the last trimester!!
Stay tuned for Nursery Part 3 :)

Giving myself a break
As a pregnant woman we experience a lot of ups and downs throughout the whole 9 month baking process. Physical aches and pains, body issues, sleepless nights, sickness, the blues, day dreaming, anxiety, baby brain and the list goes on. I have decided that all of this is exactly why I need to cut myself some slack, give myself a break and embrace all that is being pregnant. It seems as though many others around me are aware I am pregnant (big belly might be giving that away) it is time that I realize this and relax a little bit. So here is a list of all that I am going to "try" and stop being so hard on myself about.
1. Stretch marks- I have been reading blogs about women and their pregnancies since I went off the pill and about 90% of them unfortunately reported they had no stretch marks, this only set me up for failure. I went into this thinking oh yeah I'll have one of those cute photogenic baby belly's. hahaha imagine my disappointment when I woke up one morning to some nasty little purple spots on my stomach right by my belly button (yes just like that one night i went to bed and they weren't there the next I woke up and tada) I have been struggling with this almost every day as I look at those nasty purple spots that are only going to get bigger as baby grows. Matt has cut me all the slack in the world but me on the other hand am so critical every time i look in the mirror. So I need to stop the whole critical crappiness and realize they will fade after she arrives and they make cute one pieces now right?
2. I shouldn't eat this, I should eat that- BRING ON THE CINNAMON ROLLS (I just made some they were oh so good!) all in moderation right. Yes majority of the time I have been trying to eat a lot healthier and keep my weight in check but every once and a while it's ok to give in.
3. I am super woman and can clean and run around the house like i always did - NO I CANNOT, my back is screaming after this. I should just take Matt up on his offer and ask him for help, what an idea right?
4. Crying- it's ok; this is a huge life change and my hormones are out of wack, i might break into spontaneous water works at a hallmark commercial, so what, i'm allowed!
5. Being absolutely terrified of labor- yes all my life i have not been good at the whole needle or dealing with any medical emergency thing, i get called a baby a lot but there is nothing i can do about it. I get my blood drawn and I almost pass out, it's not because it hurts it's something i can't even explain it just happens. Accept this people, I am a baby and maybe pregnancy and going through labor and delivery will help me deal with these issues but then again maybe they won't so for now we will take it one day at a time and one appointment at a time. In the end I just tell myself "I am a strong woman that God made for this purpose, my body was made to handle this" yes I tell myself that when I go to bed. Hoping it kicks in before May 3rd.
6. Moodiness- yes i unfortunately already dealt with this little issue from time to time but now my poor husband gets the brunt of what bad days at work do to me or even just the weather. I swear there really is a good and bad side of the bed now, sometimes that's all it takes. So I just need to realize when this happens and maybe stay away from humanity until the moment passes.
7. Blogging/ stalking/ browsing baby websites when I should be doing something else- Ok so every mommy to be in this day and age is oh so guilty of this. How can you not be with websites like Etsy, the bump, and all these mothers willing to share every gory detail about their 9 months and the fun and eventful moments that is being a new parent. AHHHH i'm addicted. I happen to love this new fascination but sometimes when it's time to work or sit down with my husband and talk about our days, it can get in the way. sooooo yeah i'm just going to have work around this one, no fixing this!
So when I struggle with any of these issues or as others arrive, I just need to remember I am pregnant and this is a time where I can cut myself some slack, everyone else is!
Ramblings of a preggo woman on an evening with no TV on yet, thanks if you made it this far, if not it's kind of like therapy :)

Nursery Part 1
So, i've been soooo antsy to get moving on this project that I think I'm driving myself nuts! It's just I'm starting to feel this great 2nd trimester energy leaving me every day little by little. It's like I'm regressing back to my nap for 15 minutes at lunch and hide under my covers from 8 p.m. until the alarm clock goes off the next morning, not a part of civilization stage again. (I really hated that stage!) Soo I've been on Matt to help me move furniture around, clean the carpets, fix the closet door, and freshen up the paint in her room before we bring in anything new. I want it to be as clean of a slate as we can get it before I bring anything cutsie that's going to touch my precious little one!
So, Step 1: Find a place for all our furniture that was in the spare room and we can't keep anymore. So how did we do this, most of it is in Grandma's basement for safe keeping until house #2 or whoever else in the family needs it first. However, we did switch up a few things, we got rid of the $100 Walmart futon (yes it worked for almost 2 years but it was time to let go) it was gross and I was over it! So we moved our twin guest bed into the office, took the head board off and made it a day bed/ study haven for Matt when preggo is sleeping and he doesn't want to bother me. We also moved the dresser which is Matt's dresser into our room, Matt no longer has to walk across the house in his (boxers or briefs???? you will never find out!) to get all his clothes in the morning.

Step 2: Clean the carpets. Why hire a professional when you have this stud to do it for you! He's having so much fun, actually he did a great job! Thanks honey :)

Step 3: Touch up the paint where all the scratch marks from our many house guests were left over the last 2 years. We love every single one of you who put one of those marks on our wall, it was worth the half hour to touch up the paint.

Step 4: Order furniture!! Ok so it's not in yet but the crib has been ordered and I can almost picture it in that cute yellow room already.
Step 5: Buy a new washer and dryer, ok so this has NOTHING to do with a nursery but was a must do before baby girl arrived. Everyone who stalks me on facebook or knows me realizes how in love I am with these new babies. Thank you Lord for the Sears Scratch and Dent Outlet :) we got a great deal!! No more washer with the top section falling off and the dryer that leaves brown streaks on our clothes (can you picture cute baby clothes with brown streaks on them, no, exactly that's why we got a new one!)

25 Weeks Today
How far along? 25 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: up exactly 10 lbs. from my first doctors visit
Maternity clothes? : Can't live without them
Stretch marks? had a mini break down about these the other day, so answer is yes :(
Sleep: I MISS MY STOMACH!! I also miss being able to go a whole night without peeing and having to get up when it's cold out to do so

Best moment this week: It just started so I guess we will go with, the best moment this weekend, Matt and I got a new washer and dryer. I was thinking I was going to have to take these cute baby girl clothes to my parents house to wash them because our old dryer put black streaks on our clothes but we got new ones!!
Movement: she is a wild woman! BUT a very stubborn wild woman, the minute daddy puts his hand on my stomach to try and feel her she gets stage fright, well she's not really scared because she moves for mom all the time, she is just making him wait til the right moment to feel her presence in there finally.
Labor Signs: Not yet thank goodness
Belly Button in or out? still in (ready for the fat girl belly button to go away and for it to flatten out)
What I miss: Jimmy Johns and Subway sandwiches (I can get subway toasted but it's not the same by a long shot) I gave up Diet Coke too so I'm missing that
What I am looking forward to: Ordering her furniture, we still have some things to do in her room, finish clearing out the furniture, touch up paint and the baseboards, fix and paint the closet door then we can order furniture!

Weekly Wisdom: Listen to your body, I kept getting faint spells and got one at the Dr. the other morning too, I need more protein, so I just need to suck it up and get up 10 min earlier to make a better breakfast packed with protein for me and baby girl!
Milestones: Feeling her toss and turn and kick away in there :)

Babymoon time in Disney
So it turns out I have a really cool boss who let us use one of her timeshare weeks and take our babymoon. We decided that since we didn't get to do Disney on our honeymoon like we had originally planned on we would do it now since we would be staying close by for free. (only a 5 minute drive!)
For all of those who know Matt and I well we are big kids at heart and love the Disney flicks. This is one thing Matt will be super excited for once baby girl is old enough to enjoy these with him. We won't look like that nerdy couple who went to the matinee showing of UP or Over the Hedge or whatever new Pixar/Disney movie is out at the time. We will actually have a little one in tow, but don't get me wrong I don't know which will be more excited her or my husband.
I truly believe that Walt Disney was a genius! Disney World is definitely the happiest place on earth even with Florida experiencing record lows for this time of year (still way better than here with single digits and 6 inches of snow) but cold for Florida none the less. It didn't stop us at all, we made sure to get in every single minute at the Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. My favorite part of the Magic Kingdom was by far the fireworks at the end of the night, I mean Tink flies out of the castle, how cool is that?!?! Hollywood Studios was pretty awesome too with a crazy Lights, Motors, Action stunt show that involved multiple car chases with fire and jumps. Holy cow! We also got to experience the new show called Fantasmic at Hollywood Studios where they reflected movie clips and lights off of a sheet of water, a HUGE lit up dragon, waterfalls, fireworks, amazingness!
So enough of me trying to describe this amazing experience, here are some pictures from our trip!
Oh yeah and I flippin love my husband to pieces and I'm so glad we were able to have a week to ourselves before our lives turn upside down when this little girl arrives.
