Our very first picture together:

We met in Theatre class at Purdue, it took me a couple classes to finally get the nerve to ask him if he was a Heinekamp because I knew he looked so familiar and I was correct. His sister Courtney had been to my house several times because my sister is the same age and played basketball with her. I had just never officially met her brother (we went to separate high schools, he was a private school kid and I was the one public school kid in my family). So after he got over the initial who is this crazy stalker girl we started talking in class and walking out together until he would go one direction and i would go the other. Then our teacher partnered us together for our first project and then we obviously had to exchange contact information. The most fun was the flirting via AIM with our little messages, w/emoticons i might add, to each other at the end of every away message. Oh i loved that feeling, knowing he was thinking about me even when he was away. We started driving to and from bball games together and back home to Indy and it gave us a chance to really get to know each other.
We were pretty comfortable right from the start, no truly awkward first date moments. If you don't count the times I had to get him a container to pee in after I took him to the emergency room for his appendix. hahaha such a great story we have to tell our kids, before he even took me on a real date I had to take him to the ER and spent the night and into the next morning with my poor sick love, although we hadn't told each other we loved each other yet I think we both knew pretty quickly it was love. We would lay in my little twin bed at school and he would make me laugh so hard my stomach would hurt and tears would roll down my face. He let me be myself and I don't ever feel like I had one of those relationships that held me back from experiencing anything in my last couple years at school. He only made them better!!
We dated for 2 years and then after I graduated and before he started his Senior year he called up my dad and met him for a beer and then asked him for permission to marry his daughter (this made me sooo happy to hear and pleased my dad you might say!) Later that week we went for ice cream and a walk on the canal, I had to work the next morning and he had to head back up to Purdue for work but that didn't keep us from staying out late walking and talking and then eventually calling all our friends and waking up our family because he asked me to marry him that night. He got down on one knee and said one thing that would make spending the next year apart much easier was if he knew i would be his wife at the end of it! Oh happy day :) I was on cloud nine and have been ever since.
Right after he popped the question:
He is my best friend, the love of my life, the one person who takes me even with my faults, or when I'm having a freak out moment about becoming a mom and going through labor. He has so much confidence in me and that means the world. He is constantly telling me I can do this and that I was made to have this baby. He is going to be a great support system through this whole thing and has already been my rock through it all. I can't wait to watch him hold our daughter for the first time and fall in love with her. She is one lucky girl to have such a great daddy and I am one lucky woman to have such an amazing husband to spend the rest of my life with.
::sigh:: he still makes me melt, I cannot imagine my life without him
