And....

 We have a WALKER!

She's been taking steps a couple at a time since last Tuesday but this was her tonight!

Ok so everyone flip your screens sideways so you can watch :) Sorry our video camera was dead so I grabbed my camera real quick and I was up against a wall and this was the best I could do. BUT you get the point...she's good right?!?!

Free To Live Tour

I am a twitter junky! I gave it up for Lent (HARD!) I returned just in time to see Meredith Andrews tweet about a tour she is involved in starting this May. Even better news, Hubby is off of school that week! WOOH ROAD TRIP :)

The tour is called Free to Live!
http://freetolivetour.com/

This is going to be an evening of worship, of opening our eyes, ears and our hearts to the message of what many orphans throughout the world endure on a daily basis just to simply survive and what we can do as believers to help them! What will our call to action be? I don't quite know yet but this is a great place to start.

*If you are in the Indy area and want to attend with us please let me know*

How do you mommy's deal?!?!

Ok... so how do you mommy's deal with your babies growing up?

Yes she is so much fun right now and I enjoy every ounce of her crazy little personality and sweet sweet face but how do you deal with them going from 7lbs. of complete dependence to 20 lbs. of toddler independence?

How do I at some point not long for this sweet little sleeping body again who slept in my arms for hours at a time or slept snuggled up in her boppy or lamb seat?

Needless to say I am emotional as this first birthday milestone races towards me.

Today..I am frusturated

I am frusturated with society, I am frusturated at our bank account, I am frusturated at my job, I am frusturated with my desire to fit in, I am frusturated that I can't afford to bring a baby home that needs a family, I am frusturated that I don't know what is next, and I am just FRUSTURATED over all.

I am going to bed at night with an unsettlted heart for what is next, what is my calling, how do I help, how do I provide for my family but still contribute and give to the calling of the fatherless, how do I go on trips to love on those same children if I can't afford to go or I don't have vacation time. How do I provide help to others working towards this same cause if I can't even put enough away to bring our own baby home. Do we keep saving and have baby #2 in a year or so. Is our house even big enough to bring another baby home, how do I get out of our house if I can't afford to get into a bigger one. These thoughts run circles around my brain ALL DAY and ALL NIGHT, they won't stop!

I know that God has an answer and he will show me what is next and I just need to get out of the way, I NEED TO GET OUT OF MY OWN WAY, but when I do that sometimes I feel like I'm doing nothing. Ugggh.

Memory Lane Monday #3

Time for another installment of Memory Lane Monday. Only 1 left after this (there has been a lot of reminising and tears this week for this Mamma)

Memory Lane #3 (BLOOPERS)

I just love this, my husband with the Vera diaper bag and barely holding onto our 3 month old. We were definite beginners.

Hope you enjoyed some of the pictures that didn't make the cut the first time around. I am sad that apparently in my first-time-mommy-never-wanting-to-look-like-a-bad-parent I might have deleted some other funny ones, o well I was an awesome mom and you'll never find proof otherwise :)

Mommy Advice Needed!

Hello mom friends! I need a little help and advice.

My sweet Lydia is turning 1 next week, holy moly I almost have a toddler! Anyway, we are going to start transitioning her off formula and on to milk and off the bottle. :(

Also, I have heard so many different opionions etc. on whether to put her on organic milk or not due to hormones. What did you do, moms of girls???

Any tips/Advice and words of wisdom from the veteran mammas of the group is much appreciated!

This Very Special Easter

On this very special Easter, the first Easter with my precious daughter in my arms (not kicking away in my belly only weeks before she would make her arrival) I am truly understanding Easter for the first time. I am truly understanding what God's huge love for us looks and feels like, how if we let it into our hearts and truly accept that he loves us and sent his son to die for our sins; by his mercy and grace we are saved it CHANGES you!! It changes something deep in you heart. It hits a sweet spot that you never even knew existed. It stirs and begs for more and in that moment you realize it is only for God that we live, only for HIM that we are saved and even able to experience the joy of being a mother, a wife, daughter, sister, and best friend.

I am more thankful on this Easter than ever before that Jesus died on that cross for our sins, I weep with tears of a mother as I think of Mary watching Jesus carry the cross and be crucified for US, I want more on this Easter than ever to live a life worthy of that sacrifice.

I share this song with you tonight, the night before Easter, the night before HE IS RISEN! It has spoken to me during this season of Lent and I hope it speaks to you tonight. Enjoy your sweet families tomorrow and celebrate for our God is not dead he's ALIVE!
