We know this is best for us, it is how we will be able to handle the first big fee that will be due when we sign our contract and get the whole process started. I know that when the staff look at our financial worksheet they will have questions about how the heck are we going to afford this and the fear of not being accepted because of what we make and have saved scares me. So to avoid that and ease that fear we are not applying until we hit our goal!!!
We are still only 1/2 way there but then again we are 1/2 way there!! I can look at it as the glass half empty or half full, I am choosing to go with half full on this one! I know this is all in God's timing, his timing is perfect in all that he has planned for our lives. If I have learned one thing from other adopting mammas it is that God uses all these moments of waiting to build our faith and prepare us, spiritually, mentally, and even financially in our case. He is helping me to build friendships and prepare others in our lives for what is to come.
We have a few things planned in the coming months, a friend who sells Pampered Chef is going to let me host a party to benefit our adoption, we are having a garage sale in May, and our good friends who have a big party around the 4th of July always raise money for something they hold close to their hearts and they have asked us to be the beneficiaries of the big event this year! I am so thankful for these people and these opportunities. I also know that my husband and I have a lot of learning to do and a lot more discipline needed in our lives to save save save save!!!
