We love the fair at this house. It is a MUST DO on the summer check list. This year with Matt and I both starting new jobs we didn't have the flexibility to take a 1/2 day and spend a lot of time walking through the barns, eating all the food, and looking at the exhibits. We did however have a couple hours to spare on a $2 Tuesday :)
We still got to stop at the Dairy Barn for some milkshakes and grilled cheese, Matt got his corn dog, we got to split our loaded curly fries... oh yes we love the fair food! Lydia even tried it all, she loved the milkshakes the best I would say.
We made it to see the horses get all dressed up and hooked to their wagons for showtime, Lydia loved that! She stayed comfortably in her stroller but squealed and clapped as they went stomping by. She tried to stick her finger up some noses and got to pet some horses. She loved the petting zoo where we let her get down and walk up to the fence, touch the baby animals and yes my kid tried to kiss them. She is a lover, with no fear. Do you think our 3 dogs, 2 of them over 70 lbs. has something to do with that?
It was a beautiful evening and we were glad to get out and support our state fair, after such a tragedy it was good to see people out enjoying themselves, stopping to pay respects at the make shift memorial that has been made.
It's a tradition for our family and one we will continue for years to come. Gotta get that fair food at least once a year :)
