Women of Faith

This year Women of Faith had a lot to live up to. If you recall and most of you are new around here so you won't, after Women of Faith last year I found the courage to approach my husband about my heart and adoption (now look we are saving for our own!) It's also where I first heard about World Vision (now we sponsor a World Vision child). It was good for my soul!

This year, I almost didn't have anyone to go with but I told the lady organizing tickets I wanted one anyway. I asked around and my sister in law said she was interested so I  hurried up and got her ticket so she couldn't back out! I knew Natalie Grant was going to be there (I love her, she is my fav!) so that was key right there. Well, let me tell you these ladies were so full of wisdom and encouragement my heart was floating and tears were falling, I was laughing two seconds after I was bawling because they were hilarious and heart felt, so genuine.

Let me share a few moments that I found encouraging  from the weekend:

"It is not your job to get yourself home, that's the shepherds job" "The shepherd knows where to find you" - Sheila Walsh

When she was telling her testimony, her story, which is quite the testimony let me tell you. She spoke of what she was most afraid of, God knew this was what she was afraid of but he took her there anyway, but this is how she explained it... "I'm taking her to the place she is afraid of ... but i'm going to go with her" WOAH! Don't we all need to know that, God knows our fears, he knows our hearts and what we are afraid of, he will never make us go there alone.
Then she knocked it out of the park with a version of "How Great Though Art" that could have brought an angry old man to tears.

Also check out Angie Smith, her story is so raw as she speaks of the short journey with her 4th daughter Audrey and her 2 hours of life here on earth with us. She is so cute, so funny, and so encouraging. Oh and she's got a book that is trending #1 on the Barnes and Noble list... definitely going to read this one!

Then there was Natalie, the woman did not disappoint. She sang "Held" which I can't hear on the radio without being brought to tears and they did a tribute to those who lost their lives at the fair. She closed with the hym "It is Well with my soul" while 10,000 women sang it back to her. This lady, I am telling you she could blow the roof off that field-house. I was blessed to have been there.

This weekend ENCOURAGED me, I hope you all get a chance to check out these ladies and be encouraged by them as well.
